Q&A With Customer Service

Nancy C., Customer Service Specialist

"I really like helping our members better understand their insurance coverage. I know insurance can be very confusing, and I don't mind spending extra time to thoroughly answer members' questions. When they thank me and finally understand their coverage, I've done my job."

QUESTION: "I received an Explanation of Benefits (EOB). How do I know if I owe anything?"
ANSWER: "The amount you owe is listed under 'Patient Responsibility.' You should wait until the provider sends you a bill. The amount on the bill should match the amount on the EOB."
