New Spine Centers of Excellence for back pain

Many of our members experience occasional neck or back pain. Most pain is the result of an overuse injury, caused by an activity such as lifting a heavy object or doing yard work. These injuries usually get better with proper rest within six weeks.

If you're experiencing persistent back pain or have another spine-related problem, your primary care provider (PCP) may recommend that you be evaluated by a Priority Health Spine Center of Excellence. These are clinics that we've designated a Center of Excellence (COE) because they specialize in the treatment of muscular and skeletal problems, including neck and back pain. They offer:
  • Timely, thorough medical evaluations
  • Opportunities for you to discuss all treatment options, both nonsurgical and surgical, if appropriate
  • Close communication with you and your PCP about your treatment
You can be referred to a COE by:
  • Your PCP or a specialist
  • An emergency room physician
  • An urgent care center
To learn more about our Spine Centers of Excellence, visit priorityhealth.com and type "spine centers" in the SEARCH box in the upper right-hand corner of the home page. If you have questions, please call Customer Service at 800 446-5674.
