What MIChild costs
If your child qualifies, you pay only $10 a month. Even if you have more than one child you pay only $10 a month. This may sound too good to be true, but it really is only $10 a month per family. There are no copays and no deductibles (a deductible is a dollar amount you pay up front before the plan starts to pay).
Find out if your child or children qualify
Even if your children don't meet all the points below, they may still qualify for MIChild health insurance based on other family circumstances.
To get MIChild, you must make less than a certain amount of money and have children who:
- Are citizens of the U.S. (some legal immigrants qualify)
- Live in Michigan, even for a short time
- Are under 19 years old
- Have no health insurance
