Getting ready for Medicare checklist
If you're about to turn 65, the following steps can help you get up-to-speed on Original Medicare and the Priority Health Medicare plans:
- Call Priority Health and order a free Medicare Advantage for Dummies booklet.
- Sign up for Medicare Parts A and B 60 to 90 days before your 65th birthday, unless you're already getting Social Security benefits.* To enroll in Medicare, visit medicare.gov or call 800 MEDICARE (TTY: 877 486-2048).
- Get in contact with Priority Health to request free information about our plans. Visit us online at prioritymedicare.com, attend a free Medicare meeting** or stop by one of our Medicare Information Centers to ask questions or to enroll.
- Go to medicare.gov to compare plans in your area.
- Choose a plan: Medicare Advantage with Part D, or if you choose Original Medicare, add Medigap and/or a stand-alone Part D prescription drug coverage plan.
*If you're already receiving Social Security benefits, you'll automatically be enrolled in Part A and Part B on the first day of the month you turn 65. You can opt out of Part B by calling 800 MEDICARE (TTY: 877 486-2048).
