Don’t miss your well-child visits
The rule for well-child visits is 6 visits before age 2. Visits are due
at 2, 4, 6, 9, 12-15 and 18 months. At these visits your doctor will:
- Give the vaccine shots your child needs to stay healthy
- Check your child’s height, weight and body mass index for normal growth
- Do a lead poisoning test and take action, if needed
Your doctor will also do a developmental screening to see if your child is developing normally. Your doctor will look at how your child speaks, plays and acts. If the doctor finds your child isn’t learning age-related skills, your doctor will make sure your child gets the proper help.
