Reduce your health care costs
At Priority Health, we know you want to stay healthy. We also know you want to keep more of your money in your own pocket! Here are some ideas to help you do just that.
-
Use in-network providers. An in-network doctor or hospital is almost always a lower-cost choice. Our network includes more than 4,000 doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers, so finding one you know or prefer is easy.
Use our online Find a Doctor directory to find providers in your plan's network.
-
Shop and compare doctors and services. Need a doctor? Don't select one at random. Research cost and quality data to help you get the care you need at a price that fits your budget.
Check the Safety & Quality section of this website for more about comparing the quality of care.
-
Know where to go. If you go to the emergency room when you feel ill, you'll pay more than if you went to a doctor's office or an urgent care center. Call your doctor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week first. Then check the Find a Doctor directory to find an urgent care center near you.
-
Check your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements. By law, we have to send you an EOB statement every time you get medical service. They aren't bills, they simply tell you that we've been charged by a health care provider for a service for you. Check each EOB we send you. If you find an error, we'll help get it fixed. It pays to understand your benefits so you can use them cost effectively and get the most from your coverage.

Think prevention. A great way to lower your health care costs is to stay healthy. That means you need preventive checkups to catch health problems early or avoid them altogether. Preventive care is covered at 100% in most cases, and you'll save money!
Check the Preventive Health Guidelines for what we suggest.
