Getting a transition fill

New members may qualify for a transition fill

If you're new to your Priority Health plan and are having problems filling your prescription, you may qualify for a "transition fill." A transition fill is available to new members whose prescription isn't covered or requires prior authorization.
  1. Your pharmacist will receive a message when entering your prescription that lets him/her order it using a transition fill code.
  2. Your pharmacist will give you a one-time, 30-day supply of your drug. You will have to pay your copay for it.
  3. You then have 30 days to work with your doctor to request prior authorization for your medication or switch to a medication covered by your plan.

Some limitations apply. For example, medicines are not eligible for a transition fill if they are excluded from coverage by your plan or exceed the Priority Health maximum dosage or quantity limit.
