If you automatically qualify for assistance, you do not have to apply. You may receive (or may have received) a letter from Medicare or the Social Security Administration (SSA) about your eligibility for 2009. Read this important information carefully.

If you need proof that you qualify for assistance, see the policies on the Best Available Evidence at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services website.

  • Your Medicare Part D drug plan premium may be reduced by 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%. To find out what your premiums and prescription drugs could cost, search for the available plans in your area (search by county).

  • Click on the link in the first footnote under the benefits table for information.
  • Once you enroll in a PriorityMedicare plan for 2009, Medicare will tell us how much assistance you are receiving. We will send you information on the amount you will pay.
  • You must continue to pay your Medicare Part B premium if not otherwise paid for under Medicaid or by another third party.
