Do you qualify?
You automatically qualify for this assistance if you are eligible for:
- Medicaid
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI), or
- A Medicare savings program
If you automatically qualify for assistance, you do not have to apply. You may receive (or may have received) a letter from Medicare or the Social Security Administration (SSA) about your eligibility for 2008. Read this important information carefully.
How much assistance can you receive?
- If you have qualify for additional assistance for your Medicare prescription drug plan costs, the amount of your premium and your cost at the pharmacy will generally be lower once you receive extra help from Medicare. Your Medicare Part D drug plan premium may be reduced by 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%. See the charts below.
- Once you enroll in PriorityMedicare Rx for 2008, Medicare will tell us how much assistance you are receiving. We'll send you information on the amount you'll pay.
- You'll still be responsible for paying any Medicare Part B premium, the Medicare Advantage plan premium if you choose a medical plan, plus any premiums for enhanced drug coverage if you choose PriorityMedicare Plus.
