Family Alternate Deductible
When you have a Point-of-Service plan, covered services are paid at either the Preferred level or the Alternate level, depending upon how you seek services. See your Certificate of Coverage for details.
Your Family Alternate Deductible is the total cost of Alternate-level services for all individuals on your policy that you must pay before Alternate-level plan benefits begin to pay.
- Only Alternate-level services covered by your policy apply to the Alternate-level deductible.
- This deductible must be met each plan year.
- Once you have met your family Alternate-level deductible, you don't have to meet everyone's individual Alternate-level deductible.
