What is a vaginal hysterectomy?


Hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus. It is done to treat gynecological conditions: birth complications, cancer or fibroids, endometriosis, or uterine bleeding that hasn't responded to other treatments.  A vaginal hysterectomy is removal through a small incision made in the vagina.
