What is your BMI score?

Your Body Mass Index, or BMI, is a number that can be calculated from your height and weight as well as from tests your doctor performs. Your BMI score is a measurement of how much body fat you carry.

What does your score tell you?
Less than 18.5
Underweight
18.5 to 24.9
Normal weight
25 to 29.9
Overweight
30 or greater
Very overweight, or obese


What is your risk?
If your BMI falls in the overweight or obese categories, you are increasing your risk for developing many diseases:
  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol
  • Diabetes
  • Stroke
  • Arthritis
  • Sleep apnea and other breathing problems
