Eased requirements
Effective Sept. 1, 2009, we eased prior authorization and step therapy requirements for more than 100 drugs on our approved drug list (called the formulary), making it easier and faster for your employees to get these medications.

Reduced copays for brand-name asthma controllers
Also effective September 1, 2009, we made Pulmicort and QVAR long-term asthma controllers available for the generic copay instead of the brand-name copay. This will save your employees an average of $30 per month.

The reduced copay should improve access to these medications, which ultimately leads to cost savings through decreased hospitalization, ER visits and absenteeism.
