Free health assessments underway for Priority Health Medicare members
(February 25, 2011)
Priority Health is doing free in-home health assessments for a select group of our Medicare Advantage members to gather data that will help us achieve the goals set for us by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and earn a 5-star rating for clinical quality and customer experience. We'll also use the data we gather to enhance the effectiveness of our care management programs. Some of your employees may be asked to participate in these assessments.
About the assessments
- Priority Health is partnering with CenseoHealth, a company that has contracts with fully-trained, licensed physicians, to complete the health assessments.
- The doctor will gather a comprehensive health history and complete a brief exam which includes checking reflexes, pulse, blood pressure, and listening to heart and lungs.
- No invasive procedures will be performed and no blood will be drawn.
- Participants will be able to wear their street clothes during their appointment.
- Participants and their doctor both will receive a summary report of information gathered.
- The assessment is free.
- The information we collect will not affect your employees' coverage.
- If employees have health concerns, we'll direct them to talk with their primary care provider.
- We won't interfere with any care they're receiving from their doctor.
