Enrollment tool changes you need to know about
(October 27, 2010)
We've made several updates to the online Enrollment tool to comply with health reform laws and to help you with the enrollment process. Here's a list of changes and what you might experience:
- Student dependents (ages 20-26) – No longer need to be enrolled as "students." They will automatically stay on the plan. Instead, you'll need to indicate whether or not that student lives inside or outside the Priority Health service area.
Note: Groups who have not renewed as of 10/01/2010 must continue to enroll student dependents until their renewal date. You must use a paper enrollment form and submit all necessary student information manually. Download an enrollment form (350KB PDF).
- Qualifying events – Use the online enrollment tool to enroll new members who are eligible for coverage due to marriage or birth. No more paper forms.
- Transaction summary – Now a summary of the changes you made and a transaction ID number will appear when you click FINISH.
- COBRA reinstatement – You can now check each dependent that needs to be reinstated instead of going through each dependent individually.
- Effective dates – They’re now automatically calculated. You don’t have to figure it out yourself.
- No more paper change forms for newborns – You can "reinstate" them in the online enrollment tool.
