WebMD HealthQuotient to be updated Nov. 20

Priority Health is working with WebMD® to update the online HealthQuotient® health risk assessment.

Effective Nov. 20, the family medical history questions will be removed from the WebMD® HealthQuotient® health risk assessment. We're doing this to comply with the federal Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA), designed to prevent employers and health plans from discriminating based on "genetic information."
Family medical history is now considered "genetic information."

The HealthQuotient has included family health history questions strictly to help members understand the potential impact of their family medical history on their own health by assessing their risk for:
  • Breast cancer
  • Prostate cancer
  • Colon cancer
  • Coronary artery disease
  • Depression
  • Diabetes
Removal of these questions won't affect benefit coverage or participation in a wellness program and won't impact your premiums or your employees' out-of-pocket expenses. An employee's HealthQuotient score may be slightly higher because the risk related to family medical history hasn't been assessed.

Please contact your account representative if you have questions.
