What does MIChild cover?

MIChild covers the services below and others, too. Priority Health will give you the full list when your coverage begins.
  • Regular checkups
  • Shots
  • Emergency care
  • Dental care
  • Pharmacy
  • Hospital care
  • Prenatal care and delivery
  • Vision and hearing
  • Mental health and substance abuse services

What MIChild costs

If your child qualifies, you pay only $10 a month. Even if you have more than one child you pay only $10 a month. This may sound too good to be true, but it really is only $10 a month per family. There are no copays and no deductibles (a deductible is a dollar amount you pay up front before the plan starts to pay).

Find out if your child or children qualify

To get MIChild, you must make less than a certain amount of money and have children who:
  • Are citizens of the U.S. (some legal immigrants qualify)
  • Live in Michigan, even for a short time
  • Are under 19 years old
  • Have no health insurance
Even if your children don't meet all the points above, they may still qualify for MIChild health insurance based on other family circumstances.
