HRA qualified expenses

The money in a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) can be used to reimburse the employee for qualified health care expenses.

What are qualified expenses?
Qualified expenses are specified in the health plan, so check your plan documents. Examples may include:

• Costs for doctor visits, hospitalization, lab tests
• Coinsurance (when the employee pays 20% of a health care cost, and insurance pays 80%, for example)
