Make sure you're appointed
You need to be appointed as both a group plans agent and a Medicare Advantage plans agent before you can sell Medicare Advantage plans.

Here's how to get certified.

All agents who sell individual Priority Health Medicare plans must be certified.


New agents

It's a three-step process:
  1. Fill out and submit an agent agreement (614KB PDF) before you begin the training process.
  2. Gorman online agent/broker training & testing
  3. Priority Health Medicare 2011 product training & testing

Existing agents

You must be re-certified before the open enrollment period begins each November. Complete steps 1 and 2:
    1. Gorman Online Agent/Broker Training & Testing
    2. Priority Health Medicare Product Training & Testing

      Step 1 — Gorman online agent/broker training & testing

      Note: If you've already completed Gorman training or AHIP CMS certification for another carrier, go to Step 2.

      About Gorman online training:
      • There are two self-paced training modules. After successfully completing the modules, you'll take a final exam.
      • You're allowed three attempts to pass your final exam.
      • Cost for training is $99, payable by credit card on the website.
      • Choose to have this certification count as four CE credits for an additional $12.
      • Use the Gorman training manual to help you though the training. Download the manual (1.3MB PDF).

      Remember: You must complete Step 1 before going to Step 2.

      Step 2 — Priority Health Medicare Product Training & Testing

      Finished Step 1? You're required to attend a Priority Health Medicare training class to learn about product offerings and 2011 pricing.
      • Classes run approximately 90 minutes.
      • Bring a copy of your Gorman or AHIP training completion certificate with you.
      • All agent certification must be completed by Nov. 15
