Registration is now open for Sept. 3 Arts in Motion 5K

(Farmington Hills, Mich. - August 2, 2011)

Priority Health announces registration is open for the Sept. 3 Priority Health Arts in Motion 5K, presented in conjunction with Arts, Beats and Eats – a summer festival supporting local charities and featuring music, artists, restaurants and family-friendly activities.

“The Priority Health Arts in Motion 5K is a great way to get the community involved in healthy initiatives, as well as encourage a more active lifestyle,” said Joan Budden, chief marketing officer, Priority Health. “Promoting a healthy lifestyle, while raising money for arts education, fosters a culture of overall wellness and support, which is a critical foundation for all Michigan communities.”

The Priority Health Arts in Motion 5K, presented by DMC Sports Medicine, will feature a 5K chip-timed run and self-timed 5K fun run or walk for adults and children. The 5K will take place from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and begins at Starr Jaycee Park, then winds through Royal Oak neighborhoods. To celebrate the arts, individuals and teams are invited to dress in costume or theme. Awards will be given to individuals with the best costume and teams with the most creative theme. All participants will be given four free admissions to Arts, Beats and Eats.

To register for the event, visit michiganyoutharts.org/5k. Registration is $35 for the 5K run and $30 for the 5K fun run or walk.

The 5K benefits the Michigan Youth Arts, a statewide association that serves as an alliance of arts education organizations. In addition, the 5K is endorsed by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports.
