2010 Quality Awards: Priority Health honors providers for quality care

(Grand Rapids, Mich. - July 19, 2010) Priority Health, one of the nation's top health plans, is pleased to recognize 138 primary care practices across the state of Michigan with the 2010 Priority Health Quality Awards. The Priority Health Quality Awards were established in 2003 to recognize excellence in health care. Quality Awards are presented in two categories: Excellent Patient Care and Outstanding Health Care Value. Among the honorees are 38 practices winning awards in both categories.

"Priority Health strives to provide excellent and affordable health care to our 600,000 members," said Kimberly K. Horn, president and CEO. "Our provider network regularly exceeds national benchmarks for quality care in areas such as cancer screenings and other preventive services."

Priority Health analyzes the highest-performing practices within its network of 14,000 providers through its Partners in Performance program. This physician incentive plan was established more than 10 years ago and has been recognized by the National Business Coalition on Health for effectively rewarding physicians for providing high-quality and cost-efficient care for patients.
