Health reform for members

(April 20, 2010) Priority Health has a team of employees who are working to determine exactly how health care reform will impact you and your Priority Health coverage. We’ll work with you to help you understand what’s different and to be sure you continue to have access to excellent, affordable health care.

No matter what happens with health care reform, Priority Health will be ready to help you make informed choices and will assist in finding solutions to meet your specific health care coverage needs.

How will Priority Health tell me what's different when the changes go into effect?

Priority Health has a team working on the answer to that question. There will not be any changes right away, but there could be some changes in the late September. We’ll continue to share information with our members in a variety of ways – through your employer (if you have a group plan), in our newsletters, with letters, on priorityhealth.com, etc.

Will my rates / premiums / copays go down?

Priority Health has a team working on all of the details about what health reform will mean to our members. We should know more in the late spring / early summer timeframe.

How will the proposed Medicare Advantage changes impact me?

In the short-term, you will not see any changes to your services or benefit designs. The only change you will see, this year, is a new rebate of $250 for those individuals who reach the prescription drug-coverage gap. This is a one-time only rebate provided directly from the federal government this year.

Any changes that come out of health reform for 2011 will be outlined in your annual notice of change, which you will receive in October 2010.
